Miao is my husband's last name, and my husband and I are still very much in love and happily married. Kim is my maiden name and better represents who I am. My husband supports my decision to make this change, and recognizes that my Korean heritage and identity is very important to me. I am proud to be with him--Esther Kim just feels more authentic for me to my identity.
